Unexpected freedom

Tinkering with this year's FAFSA, I found that the Dpt. of Education liberated me from my parents a year earlier than I expected. In their eyes, I'm now dirt poor and need contribute nothing towards my education. Of course, this means that my estimation of what I can and can't afford to do this academic year has been turned on its head.

I feel more than a little unbalanced.

You're 24, right? That's the age cut-off. :D (We had our dependency overridden last year, but didn't need an override this year.)
