403: Listen to the song of the paper cranes... (Cranesong)

Spent Wednesday doing ALL the laundry, and packing my share of it. This evening [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv and I fly out to Seattle, where we'll arrive in the small hours of tomorrow morning. Going to be there visiting family until 9/6. If you'd care to have lunch/tea/blackberry picking/alien invasion with us, do please get in touch. :)

Coordinating to meet is going to be extra-awkward for a bit. I lost my phone on Monday, and until it's replaced, can't receive calls (mostly) or text messages (at all). Z hacked together a Frankenphone for me that can make outgoing calls, but it's barely more useful than a dumb landline. Please use IM or e-mail for all contact until otherwise noted.
0) My mom accompanied me to a brain-adjuster appointment at awful o'clock in the morning (the only schedule slot that all parties could arrive for). It was Good and Useful.

1) [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv became Dr. [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv.

2) Departing after the ceremony, I tried to circumvent the traffic jam on the stairs and instead fell + slid down five rows of auditorium seats. Injured right wrist, lower back, left shank.

3) The following 6.5h were spent at the ER, during which I had a total of 12 15 X-rays taken. They probably could've left off the last set, but the orthopedist wanted to look at my right ankle to compare with the left.

4) I was discharged around 21:00 with diagnosis of a minor fracture at the top of my left fibula. I have a straight-leg brace, crutches, and instructions not to bend my left knee until my orthopedics follow-up in a fortnight. Shall be seeing my GP far sooner than that, though, because the prescribed pain meds are utterly insufficient for that span of time.

5) I am home and medicated. Sleep now.

[livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv went on a day-hike in New Hampshire with some friends today, which he tells me was fun right up until he skidded on an icy bit of road and hit a tree. Nobody's hurt, but they're currently stranded about 75mi from home. Wheee.

I've got hot soup for when he gets home. The question is when that'll happen.

ETA: Just a bit before midnight. There is hot soup a'waiting.

A year ago today, I married the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv. He gets better with time, too.

[livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv got stranded at his workplace, sick, on Friday night. This was after the T had stopped running, so I couldn't get out there until today. Mostly I made him drink dilute gatorade after he'd expressed confidence that he wasn't going to throw it back up, and sat around reading webpages while he slept. By 20:00 or so, he was eating plain bread. Around 23:00, we were on the subway train coming home.

Now I get to stretch after sitting in the uncomfortable Stata Center chairs all afternoon/evening, and hope he's not contagious.

Last Monday, 2/14: Up at 06:00. Class, groceries, home. Spent the afternoon figuring out how to make icecream cupcakes for [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv's birthday. Presented them that evening - the expression on his face was priceless.

This Monday, 2/21: Up until 02:00, reading 600-odd of the 1001 Mournland Horrors, in preparation for sending my D&D players there in a few sessions. Woke up around 06:00 with a pretty good idea of how I'm going to run things in that region of blatant offense against the natural order. Poked [livejournal.com profile] zeightyfiv repeatedly until he stopped snoring. Woke up again around noon. In the next 9h, I need to set up all meals for tomorrow, start some plants in pots (thyme, peppers, and early tomatoes), and if there's any time remaining, make some apricot-habanero jelly.

Next Monday, 2/28: Back to the grindstone, including roughly 3h total on the T.
