Today, I decided that I needed to get moving on the business of touring grad schools, whether or not I was actually done with the Report o' DOOM. I've discovered that of the interesting research universities in this area, only one listed a departmental e-mail address. And when I tried that one, the message bounced.

I'm beginning to suspect that they don't actually want to hear from anyone who can't just walk in on a whim.

Instead of a departmental email address, try looking for the contact information of a department head, graduate student advisor, or even a department coordinator/office manager.
