Today it became clear that my employer expects me to both tell the future and read her mind. If I could do that I wouldn't need to work a student job, because I'd be able to gamble for a living.
Employerprof is going on vacation for the next two or three weeks. I hope to be able to send my letter of resignation before she gets back.

"But you should have known!" or "You can do better than this!"
I hope things go well, however.
Did you know they diagnosed me with a heart murmur at age ... ten or so? I had a heart stress test a few years ago and passed it with a doctor's note saying I have a sufficient heart for the next 50 years or so. Now if I could convince the rest of my body to keep up.

As for heart stuff, there's a decent chance that I'm just out on the far end of the bell curve for what's "normal" in someone of my age and gender. But that far edge of normal overlaps with the set of "possibly dangerous" results. (I'm also told that if it does turn out to be something serious, modern medicine can do more about heart problems than just about any other health issue.)

That makes me imagine a reanimator-style doctor in a lab someplace with rows of beating hearts in jars, explaining how they managed to keep them going through modern medical science, but have yet to figure out how to keep the bodies going to match.
