Many things.

The owners of this apartment building have decided that they don't want to sign a continuing lease with us, and would like us to have left by 12/31/11. That's just about exactly when zeightyfiv and I were planning to be gone. It will save us some effort along the way, because we won't be trying to buy time with insincere lease-related negotiations.

This semester's classes are proceeding apace. Violin class is lovely, but I hope I develop calluses on my left hand soon. If anyone has suggestions for how to practice when you're too new with an instrument to know whether you're doing it right (vs. potentially cementing a failure or bad habit), I'd appreciate hearing them.

The leaves have mostly turned, and the trees on the banks of the Charles do a lovely impression of being on fire. At this time of year it's the high point of my daily commute.
