Our elderly cat has started urinating in the places where she normally sleeps. This is highly uncharacteristic behavior and makes me think she's becoming incontinent. That plus the remarkable amount she drinks and the fact that she didn't entirely stopped vomiting when we got her thyroid levels back down to normal, raises the possibility of chronic kidney failure.
For the moment she's been exiled to the bathroom with a box of ragged old clothes to sleep on. If we can't trust her not to urinate on soft things, we won't be able to keep her. At the same time, a cat of her age with known health (and/or behavior) problems isn't exactly adoptable.
Damnit.
