The questions are invariably so poorly worded that I expend more effort figuring out what a given question is really asking than I do determining the correct answer.
If they were to ask challenging questions, that would be great. Except for Pearson's profit margin, since one of their main selling points is that homework is graded by computer. But no. Sometimes I have to ask, are these things written by native speakers of English? Because I've had more comprehensible homework questions written by nonnative speakers (mostly immigrant professors) for much of my time in higher education.
If I were to start on the oversimplifications that treat students like we hadn't just attended classes on the earlier chapters, I'd be here all night. And I do need to finish the stupid webhomework.
