Sunday, 7/11/2010: Overnighted at Lake Meredith Nat'l Recreation Area.
Monday, 7/12/2010: Stopped for late lunch at Black Kettle National Grassland. It's pretty enough that if you're in the area, you should too. A massive thunderstorm built up during the couple of hours we were there, and we decided to drive out from under it rather than make camp in the rain.
Tuesday, 7/13/2010: Turns out that there's no camping along most of I-44. (Another gripe - it's a toll road, so why the hell is it in such poor condition?) We dragged into Keystone State Park, just outside of Tulsa, OK, around 04:00. It was too hot and muggy to sleep outdoors. We rested for a couple of hours, then decided to drive in shifts until we could get to a hotel that would let us check in early. zeightyfiv stopped at a rest area with a gas station and McDonald's, and decided to nap here with the air conditioner running rather than wake me up for my shift. (For all that they barely serve food, and almost none of it is vegetarian, McD's has free wifi at most locations, which is allowing me to post this.) I woke up about an hour ago, and don't know how long we've been here. I've since had breakfast and done some minimal cleaning up; next step is to figure out where we're heading.
