A summary of the past week, of which I hope to never have a similar experience:

Monday, 4/27 - Killer take-home test for DiffEQ issued. Started feeling sick, and lost the rest of the day. Slept lots.

Tuesday, 4/28 - Still sick. Missed all classes. Struggled to stay focused on the test, but ended up interrupting it with several small naps. Gave up on doing the algebra part of the problems by hand, and just used Mathematica. Calculation is for calculators.

Wednesday, 4/29 - Started to feel better. Decided duration of illness was too short to be flying pig flu. Mad rush to complete test was followed by a mad rush to write lab reports for chem.

Thursday, 4/30 - 6h sleep, due to continuation of lab reports. Missed all classes but chemlab. Did voodoo a chromatography column, and the lab final. Told the prof. afterwards that if I'd known it was going to be a real exam rather than the symbolic "lab final" that most classes do, I'd have arranged to take it in the Disability Resource Center. (Got an 80% anyway.) Missed research group meeting due to the final.

Friday, 5/1 - 5h sleep, due to writing the last lab report. Missed all classes but chemlab. Stayed there for eight hours, cleaning up and checking equipment back in. Missed not only services, but dinner. (As I understand it, if you leave dirty equipment at the end of a lab semester, the department will make the prof. lower your grade. I can only speculate about what persuaded them to implement such a draconian policy.) Got home and realized I had no real food which didn't require cooking. After substantial indecision, I went out and got sushi.

Saturday, 5/2 - Slept lots. Lazed around most of the day, then went to the Hillel end of year celebration. It's hard to go wrong with boating followed by barbecue.

Sunday, 5/3 - So far, mostly tinkering with Dreamwidth. Need to read the last sections of the textbook for Mathematical Structures (AKA proofs class), since I missed both classes last week.

Finals start Thursday, and I expect that week to be more sane than this one has been. Scary.
