Due to issues with the water heater, the gas to the entire house is off until the entire unit can be replaced. Work on that is supposed to begin around 13:30 tomorrow.

Until that's done, no cooking indoors (there is a barbecue), no hot water from the tap, and no heating the house. It's hard to describe just how glad I am that there's an electric kettle in this household, so I can at least have hot tea.

Thanks for the offer, but before I saw this I'd already bathed in hot water courtesy of the electric kettle. (A truly awesome device, if ever there was one.)
