It isn't based around kibbutzim any more - more like a short tour than a long working vacation.

My roommate did that in college and enjoyed it very much. Have fun!

Also: if you go swimming in the Dead Sea, it's a good idea to clean your swimsuit soon afterwards and not leave it to molder in a plastic bag for months, like she did. ;p
