It's not the washing that bothers me, but wringing things out is hard on my wrists. If I have to do this in the long term, I'd give a finger or two for a decent hand-powered wringer. (Lucky for me, a wringer is ~$150, and the assessed value of losing a finger is about $13,000. So it's unlikely to come to that.)
